RAJOURI, May 21: In a significant action against the drug menace, the J&K Police in Rajouri district have attached the property of another notorious drug peddler, Mohd Shakoor alias Shakoora son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Dhani Dhar Rajouri.
The attached property, a residential complex valued at approximately Rs 50 lakhs, was seized under Sections 68(E) and 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

In less than a month, Rajouri Police have attached property/assets worth Rs 2.25 crores of individuals involved in NDPS Acts
Mohd Shakoor is a notorious drug peddler in the area, with accusations in 10 First Information Reports (FIRs) registered across various police stations in Rajouri district under the NDPS Act. He is currently under judicial custody in connection with case FIR number 44/2024 registered at Police Station Thannamandi under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
It is noteworthy that Shakoor was previously detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in December 2022. However, after his release in September 2023, he resumed his drug trafficking activities, leading to his subsequent arrest by Rajouri Police in another drug-related case in Thannamandi.
This attachment of property was executed by a team of police officers along with an Executive Magistrate.
