JAMMU, Feb 25: Sticking to the old ways for an old case, Miran Sahib Police here went around localities beating drums to announce a court order against a man evading his arrest, officials said today.
As directed by the court, Station House Officer (SHO) Miran Sahib Police Station Inspector Mirza Sultan and other officials resorted to the method hardly seen in use anymore to announce the order declaring the accused a proclaimed offender, they said.
They also attached the court order at conspicuous places to make the accused and his legal heirs aware of it so that they cannot deny information about the order, the officials said.
The Court of the Additional Special Mobile Magistrate RS Pura issued a notice of proclamation under section 87 of the CrPC against Paramjeet Singh alias Sunny, son of Labh Singh of Ward Number 4 Simbal Camp who is absconding/concealing himself from arrest in a case registered under FIR Number 74/2014 under Sections 452, 336, 147 and 323 RPC with Police Station Miran Sahib.
Proceedings under section 88 CrPC would be initiated in case the absconder would not surrender in Court, officials added.
