SRINAGAR, Mar 16: In a significant development, police today booked two notorious thieves under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Budgam after obtaining necessary sanctions from the authorities.
According to a police spokesperson, Azad Mukhtar, son of Mukhtar Ahmad Hajam, and Altaf Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, both residents of Hanjiveera Pattan, have been detained under PSA for their unrelenting criminal acts of burglary and theft.
He further said that the two habitual thieves were involved in 14 cases of burglary and theft in different police stations across Kashmir. “Their arrest comes as a significant breakthrough for the police in curbing the rising instances of theft and burglary in the region,” he said.
