Police books notorious criminal under PSA

SAMBA, Aug 14: District Police Samba detained a notorious criminal under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for his criminal activities on the detention orders issued by the District Magistrate, Samba.
The accused namely Pritam Singh, S/o Mohan Singh, a resident of Jerda, Tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba booked for his criminal activities in the area for which five cases have been registered against him in the Police Station, Ramgarh. His motive is not only to create terror among the peaceful and law abiding citizens of the town but also to form biggest criminal gang by encouraging criminal minded person to join with him. His criminal activities are posing great threat to the public peace and tranquillity and he has become potential threat to the public order and is highly prejudicial to the security of the State. The activities of the subject are sending wrong signal to the society thus forcing the authorities to detain him under J&K Public Safety Act, a handout issued by Samba police here said.
Keeping in view his repeated involvement in criminal activities, a dossier was prepared by Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba and forwarded to District Magistrate, Samba who formally issued the order of his detention under the PSA. The detention warrant was executed by a Police team headed by SHO, Police Station, Ramgarh and the accused has been lodged in Sub Jail Hiranagar.
