SRINAGAR, July 24: Police today booked a senior PDP leader’s son for assaulting an official of the Labour Department in Ganderbal district early this week.
Ayaz Ahmad Qazi, son of former Minister Qazi Afzal, allegedly assaulted the official at Mini-Secretariat here on Wednesday.
Qazi had visited the Commissioner’s office seeking some information regarding scholarship under Building Construction Workers Act and got infuriated when he was asked to come later. In a fit of rage, he allegedly thrashed Khan and also ransacked his office.
Ayaz Ahmad Qazi has been booked under Sections 506, 353 and 427 of the Ranbir Penal Code.
