KATHUA, July 8: Kathua police arrested three bike lifters and recovered six two wheelers from their hideouts.
Police said a complaint was filed at Police Station (PS) Bani by one Vishal Kumar, son of Bhishamber Dass of Kanthal Bani that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK08J 7024 has been stolen. On this a case FIR No 47/2022 U/S 379 ,34 IPC was registered at PS Bani.
To investigate the matter special police teams under the supervision of SDPO Basohli, Shazia A Mir was constituted. The team led by SHO PS Bani, Inspector, Shahnawaz Giri did strenuous efforts and with the help of various leads finally arrested the bike lifters.
They included, Mohd Arif son of Matasab Ali, Amir Khan son of Mohd Sheen both resident of Surjan Tehsil Bani, Kathua, Tanveer Ahmed son of Nazir Ahmed of Bani Kathua.
During questioning accused confessed their involvement in the case and on their disclosure six stolen two wheelers were recovered from their possession which included Motorcycle discover No Unknown Chasis No. MD2A64CZ8FRB0957, Motorcycle Pulsar No. Unknown Chasis No. MD2A12DZXECG4074, Motorcycle passion Pro No. Unknown Chasis no. MBLAA10A6EGA01141, Motorcycle Discover 125 No. Unknown Chasis No. MD2A15DBZ5FWJ34738, Motorcycle Pulsar 180 JK08J7024 Chasis No. MD2A12DY3KCM18296 and Motorcycle Super Splendor 125 no Pb39D1159
Chasis no 07JAEF16738).
The modus operandi of the thieves was that they used to steal two wheelers from different areas and use to sell the same on meagre amount.
Moreover, it is also advised to general public to verify the documents fully before buying a second hand vehicle. Further investigation of the case is going on.
