Police busts new modus operandi of bovine smuggling

JAMMU, Dec 25: Police today busted the new modus operandi of bovine smugglers by rescuing two bovines from a Tata Mobile vehicle loaded with straw near Baggu Nallah, falling under the jurisdiction of Batote police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Batote police station laid a naka near Baggu Nallah and intercepted a Srinagar bound Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02BC-0364 loaded with straw.
During search, police rescued two bovine animals and arrested one person namely Javid, son of Billa, a resident of Kullian RS Pura. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR number 131/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Batote police station Mohammad Iqbal made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Mattoo.
