MENDHAR, Aug 6: A police constable of JKAP was found murdered in a `Dhok’ in higher reaches of Balakote area in district Poonch today.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Aslam Khan (40), resident of Batta Durian in Mendhar. He was serving in 8th battalion of Jammu Kashmir Armed Police. The policeman was on leave and had gone to his home in Balakote. He along with his cattle went to his a family dhok on the higher reaches of Balakote yesterday. He did not return home and the family members started looking for him. They found his dead body lying there with multiple injuries.
The family members informed Gursai police about the matter. The police shifted the body to Mendhar hospital for postmortem. It registered a case and started investigation. The police said that injury marks are visible on the body and the deceased is believed to have done to death using lethal weapons. The investigation was in progress.
