KATHUA, Mar 26: District police in its drive against the consumption and production of illicit liquor today destroyed 6000 liters of Lahan and seized 60 liters of illicit liquor.
The drive was launched on the directives of newly appointed SSP, Romesh Kotwal and supervision of DySP Bisham Dubey.
Police said a team of Anti Drug Unit Kathua conducted the raids at different places in the Chak Drab Khan area yesterday wherein 6000 litres of unattended Lahan was destroyed on the spot. During the search, 60 litres of illicit liquor was also seized.
Kathua Police appealed the general public to come forward with any information regarding such illicit activities by dialing 100 with the police for the cause. The identity of such people will be kept confidential, police added.
