KATRA, Apr 12: Katra Police today destroyed poppy crop in a village near Katra and registered a case against the cultivator.
Police team, led by SHO Katra, Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, and accompanied by the Naib Tehsildar Panthal, Hukam Chand, conducted a raid at village Dhirti.
During the raid, it was established that poppy plants are cultivated in Khasra No.653 by one Badri Nath. During the course of action, the team has seized 35 kgs poppy plants and after obtaining some samples and completing codal formalities, the illegal crop of poppy plants was destroyed on the spot by order of accompanied Magistrate (Naib Tehsildar). The accused person was not present in the home. The efforts to arrest the accused person were e on and police has registered a case under NDPS Act
