KISHTWAR, Feb 6: District Police under the aegis of J&K Police Civic Action Programme today distributed 100 blankets to Ashiana Orphanage Hostel here.
On the occasion, management staff and students of the hostel and members of civil society were also present.
The programme was organised by police in view of cold weather prevailing and the need of the hostel inmates. The hostel houses the orphan children of far off areas of district Kishtwar with poor family back ground.
Management member Ravi Shankar, social activist Sheikh Nasir and SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas spoke on the occasion.
The members of civil society and management of the hostel appreciated the move of police in providing blankets to the children at the appropriate time of need.
