Police foil bovine smuggling bid in Samba

SAMBA, Dec 30: A bovine smuggling attempt was foiled in Samba district today with the release of two animals from the clutches of the bovine smugglers.
During vehicle checking on the National Highway at Supwal, a TaTa Sumo vehicle (JK02AH-4492) was intercepted by a team of Police Post Supwal, said a police official.
On search of the vehicle, two animals laden inside it in a cruel manner were released and later shifted to a safer place, he said.
Accordingly, the police official said that a case FIR number 334/2024 under section 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Samba and further investigation taken up.
