Police foil bovine smuggling bid in Samba’s Ghagwal

SAMBA, Jan 13: Police in Samba’s Ghagwal area claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the rescue of five animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
SSP Samba Varinder Manhas said that during routine checking of vehicles at Rai Morh Ghagwal, a Bolero vehicle was intercepted.
On search of the vehicle, he said, five animals were found laden inside in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Accordingly, he said, the rescued bovines were shifted to the a safer place and a case FIR number 05/2025 under section 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Ghagwal and further investigation taken up.
