Police foils 3 bovine smuggling bids, rescues 24 animals

SAMBA, Dec 29: District Police Samba foiled three attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 24 bovines in three separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal and Police Station (PS) Samba today.
Police said a team of PS Ghagwal during surprise vehicle checking Naka near Raghu Chak, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero load carrier bearing Registration Number JK08L/2281 for checking.
During checking the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside it which were being transported in an Illegal manner.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 180/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a police party of Police Post (PP) Mansar while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka Mansar, intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number JK18/ 1226.
During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found laden inside it without any permission.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 317/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
Similarly, a police party of PP Mansar rescued four more bovines at Naka Mansar which were being transported illegally in a truck bearing Registration Number JK14H/8646.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 318/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
All the bovines so rescued have been shifted to safer place and vehicles used for transportation also got seized.
