KATRA, Dec 20: Foiling an attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town, Katra Police arrested two bootleggers and seized 180 pouches of illicit liquor, which was being transported in a car.
During the intervening night of December 19-20, Police intercepted the accused persons while checking at PCP Serli. The accused, namely Rajjat Kumar and Sheet Kumar of village Paroh, Tehsil Katra, were travelling in a Maruti car .JK02AE- 3954. During checking, Police recovered 180 Poly pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from the car.
Police seized the recovered liquor pouches as well as the car and also arrested both the accused persons.
In this connection, a case FIR number 220/2016, U/S 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC, has been registered at Police Station Katra for further investigation.
