Police foils bid to poison youths with narcotics, two arrested

JAMMU, Mar 5: Police today foiled bid to poison youths with narcotics by arresting two persons from Narwal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bahu Fort police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bahu Fort police station laid a naka near Narwal and asked two persons to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the persons escaped from the spot, but cops chased and nabbed them near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 3 kilograms of ganja from their possession, which was concealed in packets.
Both the narcotic smugglers were arrested, who have been identified as Kurushana Pradhan, son of Sada Pradhan and Anteryami Bagha, son of Qazi Bagha, both residents of Orrisa.
They had brought the ganja from their native place to sale it among the youth here, but police foiled their bid.
A case under FIR Number 48/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bahu Fort police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort police station Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria and Incharge Narwal police post SI Mehmood Khan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
