Police foils bovine smuggling bid

SAMBA, Sept 20: In its continuous drive against the illegal trafficking of bovine animals, a Police Party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspector Chaman Gorka, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the direct supervision of Israr Khan, senior Superintendent of Police, Samba intercepted two Mahindra load carriers bearing registration No. JK02AB/6350 and PB32P/0298 at Ghagwal in the intervening night of 19/20.09.2013.
The vehicles were found loaded with 10 bovine animals which were being transported illegally without permission from Kathua to Jammu. The drivers of both the vehicles managed to escape from the spot. Police has registered FIR No. 82/2013 U/S 188 RPC at Police Station Ghagwal and started investigation.
