SAMBA, Mar 15: District police Samba has foiled the bovine smuggling bid and rescued four bovines at Ghagwal today.
Police said that, early this morning a team of Police Station Ghagwal intercepted a Mahindra vehicle without registration number at village Dasain at Ghagwal.
During the checking of vehicle police recovered four bovines from the vehicle and shifted them to safer place. Police also seized the vehicle but failed to arrest the driver of the vehicle who fled from the spot. Many times the Ghagwal Police has seized the vehicles carrying the bovines in past.
The local people have however questioned that when the truck was seized how driver managed to flee.
The police has registered a case and started investigation.
