Police foils bovine smuggling bid, rescues 7 bovines at Samba

SAMBA, Dec 23: Police foiled bovine smuggling bid at Rajpura under the jurisdiction of Ghagwal Police Station in district Samba near here, today.
According to the Police sources, a police party of PP Rajpura headed by SI Karnail Singh, I/C PP Rajpura under the supervision of Inspector, Rajeev Kumar, SHO Police Station, Ghagwal and Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs. Samba, during vehicle checking Naka at Bae Nallah, Rajpura intercepted a truck bearing Registration No JK08B-9588 which was coming via border road. During checking of the vehicle seven cattle found laden in it. Police rescued all the cattle and they were shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines without any permission was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 166/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
It has come to fore that due to strong nakas laid on NHW by Samba Police on the directives of Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, the bovine smugglers are now following border road to carry out illegal activities. Yesterday 10 bovines were rescued and four vehicles were seized at Chack Dayala border road under the jurisdiction of PS Samba.
