JAMMU, Feb 6: Police would arrest all Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and other people, who had given shelter to nearly dozen militants in executing the massacre of seven persons including four Village Defence Committee (VDC) members at Panchairi in Udhampur district on November 30, 2011.
Additional SP Udhampur, Benam Tosh, who had worked out the massacre of seven persons by arresting three militants a day before after 12 years, said police during questioning of the ultras has identified some of the OGWs and other persons, who had helped the militants before and after the killings.
The OGWs and other locals at Chakka Galiote in Panchairi area of Udhampur district had given shelter to the militants before and after the massacre, Mr Tosh said.
He added that the militants had constructed an artificial ropeway over river Chenab by tying wooden logs together at village Dareda to made their way into the village Chakka Galiote. They had stayed at the house of Mohammad Din son of Fazal Din near Police Post Tanger and took meals there. Din had given them packed food as Chakka Galiote had a distance of about six kilometers from the spot.
On return, the militants had stayed at the house of Shyia Gujjar at Kharthal. They had crossed Chenab at village Garari using wooden log ropeway and reached Sawalkot, where they spent the night in the house of Qoob Bakerwal.
Police said efforts were on to arrest all OGWs and civilians, who had been shelter to the militants.
Police have added Section 120-B/RPC in the case registered against three surviving militants of the massacre while other accused were dead and one was at large.
The case has been worked out under the supervision of IGP Jammu Dilbagh Singh, DIG Udhampur-Reasi range Jagjit Kumar and SSP Udhampur Ashkoor Wani.
