Srinagar, Jan 18: Srinagar Police today launched an anti-smoking campaign in Lal Chowk, imposing on-the-spot fines of Rs 200 on individuals caught smoking in public areas.
The drive, led by SHO Manzoor Ahmad from Police Station Kothibagh, aimed to curb smoking in public spaces and enforce the smoking ban.
Officers were seen fining offenders, emphasizing the importance of following the law to ensure cleaner and healthier public environments.
The initiative was also aimed to raise awareness about the health risks of smoking and encourage people to consider the well-being of those around them.
Speaking to the media, SHO Manzoor Ahmad stressed the importance of avoiding smoking in public places.
Srinagar Police has called on the public to adhere to the law and refrain from smoking in public spaces to maintain a healthier, safer community.
