Poonch, Apr 18: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, a Police party of Police Station Mendhar headed by Insp Sajad Iqbal SHO in presence of the EMIC Mendhar Naib Tehsildar Mukesh Singh launched special drive against opium cultivation and destroyed huge quantity of opium cultivation at village Dharana of Tehsil Mendhar.
In this regard a case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Mendhar and one person namley Mohd Yakoob son of Fakru resident of Dharana, Mendhar has been arrested and investigation is going on.
The drive was launched under the close supervision of SDPO Mendhar Sheezan Bhat and under the overall supervision of SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra.
