Police lodges FIR for beating Nurse

SRINAGAR, Oct 28: Police today registered a case against an attendant of a patient for beating up a Nurse of Rainawari Hospital in Srinagar at the dead of the night.
Reports said that one Sajjad Hussain Ali brought his wife Areeba Hussain to Rainawari Hospital in Srinagar for treatment last night from Nageen, Srinagar. The woman who was admitted at the hospital was suffering from miscarriage and was admitted in the hospital under MRD no 6926 last night.
A nurse who was attending the patient was allegedly beaten up by her husband Sajjad Hussain over what employees said on a minor issue.
The hospital staff in the morning went on strike paralysing functioning of the hospital. Only emergency cases were taken up at the hospital emergency by the staff in protest against beating up of the nurse.
The employees said that Sajjad threatened other employees as well by claiming to be close associate of some political leaders.
However, later the strike was called off in the afternoon after an FIR (No. 67/13) was lodged at Police Station Rainawari under Section 509, 353, 354 RPC against the attendant of the patient.
