SAMBA, Mar 16: Acting sternly against heroin smugglers and suppliers, Samba police today arrested two interstate heroin smugglers and recovered approximately 50 grams heroin from their possession.
A police party of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur headed by SHO Vijaypur during vehicle checking at NHW Naka AIIMS, Vijaypur signaled to stop a motorcycle bearing Registration number PB06AF-6614 coming from Kathua side for checking. On seeing police party, the motorcyclists tried to accelerate the speed of bike to escape from the spot, but alert police party successfully intercepted and apprehended both the rider and pillion rider. During checking, approximately 50 grams heroin was recovered from their possession.
The arrested heroin smugglers have been identified as Harpreet Singh, son of Satnam Singh and Arshdeep Kaur wife of Harpreet Singh both residents of Chabal Road Guru Nanak Nagar Bahririwal, Punjab.
A case FIR No. 37/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered against them at Police Station (PS) Vijaypur and investigation started.
