Police nabs 4 in Surankote firing, group clash case

POONCH, Mar 23: The police arrested four accused after a youth fired in the air to create scare during a clash between two groups at main market in Surankote town last night.
Sources said that over some old domestic conflict, two parties came out with lathis and started fighting at Hari Mohalla near BDO office, in Surankote town late Friday evening. The people of the locality tried to intervene. During fight one of the members fired some shots in the air with revolver to create scare.
The police party also arrived there on the spot and controlled the situation. The police apprehend two persons and seized a vehicle while others escaped from the spot.
SHO Surankote Mukhtiar Ali said that the search for the other accused was going on. Two of them have been arrested today from Fazalabad area and a pistol and Bullet motorcycle was seized, while the search for few more accused is underway.
Accused arrested in this case were identified as Anjum Mughal and Asif Mughal, sons of Azmat Hussain; Faizan Ahmed, son of Rayaz Hussain, Zamuradh Hussain, son of Talib Hussain from Surankote.
A senior Police officer said that both parties are in the relation. Basically they hail from Marha area of Surankote. They have some old enmity and some FIRs already registered against some members of the both sides. Police is dealing strictly and FIR No. 41/2024 under relevant sections has been registered at Surankote Police Station in this case.
