REASI, Oct 21: The police today arrested one person and recovered 850 gms of charas from his possession near Katra today.
Official sources said that in continuation to the drive against drug abuse in the holy township of Katra, a police team during naka at PCP Searli on Katra Road recovered Charas (22 chhallies), weighing 850 gms from the possession of driver, Azad Hussain, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Ranipora in district Anantnag, of Tavera vehicle bearing registration No.JK03D-7199. The police arrested the driver on the spot.
A case FIR No. 212/2018 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station, Katra against him. The arrest was made by SHO PS Katra Inspr. Surinder Pal Singh, assisted by SI Ajay Kumar of P/S Katra under the supervision of SDPO Katra, Vivek Shekhar Sharma and ASP Katra, Naresh Singh.
