RAJOURI, Sept 30: An accused wanted in a rape case has been arrested from Katra area of Reasi by a special team of Police Station Dharamsal in district Rajouri.
Identified as Surinder Singh, son of Raghubir Singh, resident of Kanchi Morh in Tehsil Teryath, the accused was wanted in case FIR No 08/2017 U/S 376 RPC of Police Station, Dharamsal but was evading arrest since FIR was registered against him.
Recently, a local court also issued a warrant U/S 512 CrPC against him.
On Saturday morning, a specific information was received by police that accused has been seen in Katra area after which SDPO Nowshera Khaliq Hussain constituted a special team headed by Incharge Police Post, Taryath, Mohd Rafiq under the supervision of SHO Dharamsal. Insp Amit Singh and the police team raided at a location in Katra and managed to nab the accused. He was later brought to Rajouri and lodged in police lock up.
