Police organises workshop on new criminal laws

Srinagar, June 27: The District Police Srinagar, Zone Hazratbal today organized a one day workshop on awareness of new major criminal laws at University of Kashmir.
Introductory session began with the deliberations of SDPO Zakura Ashiq Hussain who said that the new criminal laws are different and better proposed.
Dr. Naseer Iqbal Registrar, University of Kashmir and Prof Mohammad Hussain Head, Dean School of Law University of Kashmir, besides Hilal Khaliq Bhat SP Hazratbal gave insights on the provision of new criminal laws and shared their thoughts about the implementation/ Practice and highlighted the new criminal law system as different from earlier ones.
The speakers among the notables who also attended the programme were Chief Proctor Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad (Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir), Assistant Professor Mir Mubashir Altaf, Ashik Hussain SDPO Hazratbal, Insp. Javaid Khan SHO Nigeen.
The lectures were followed by group discussion and an open quiz session.
The students also shared their views and 10 minutes of open discussion also gave insights into the subject. A voluntary lecture was also given by Dr. Sabha Manzoor of School of Law University of Kashmir regarding the subject of the workshop.
