Police pays floral tribute to constable killed in militant attack in Shopian

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police paid floral tribute to a constable, who was killed when militants attacked Police Station Shopian in south Kashmir in the wee hours on Sunday.
A police spokesperson here said a wreath laying ceremony was held in District Police Line (DPL) Shopian, where floral tributes were paid to the martyr Constable Saqib Mohiuddin Mir, who gave supreme sacrifice of his life in the militant attack.
“The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Range (SKR) led police, civil officers and jawans in laying the floral wreaths on the bodies of the martyr,” he said.
Mir was killed after burqa-clad militants attacked Police Station Shopian in the wee hours on Sunday. Militants also decamped with the service rifle of the martyred policeman.
