JAMMU, June 5: The retired Police personnel today staged protest demonstration in support of their demands near Press Club here today.
Maintaining social distancing, some retired police personnel under the banner of Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Association, under the leadership of its chairman Ajit Singh assembled near Press Club here in the morning and staged a protest demonstration. They were carrying banner and placards in their hands depicting their demands and shouting slogans.
They alleged that their long pending demands were being ignored by the Police department and the Government. The speakers during protest allaged that they submitted several representations to the DGP and top functionaries in the Government but their issues have remained unresolved. They sought early resolution of their issues.
They alleged discrimination with the retired police personnel in pay anomalies. They said the pay anomly committees have also given their opinion and recommended appropriate action but they have still been denied justice. They said Ist Pay Anomaly Committee was framed in October 2009. Second committee was franed in Sept 2011 and gave its recommendations in 2012. The third one was constituted in April 16 and Finance deparment later sought clarification but it was not concluded till date. They also demanded 15 % job quota in Police for the wards of Police personnel. They also demanded that stagnation in Armed police be removed.
