Police present charge-sheet in terror case

JAMMU, Feb 12: Police today presented a charge-sheet against two individuals in the court of Third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, NIA, in a terror case registered 14 years ago.
Abdul Waris, hailing from Asthan Pain, Kishtwar, and Masrat Hussain from Bhagyas, Doda, were apprehended near Vaishnvi Dham by a team of Police Station Bahu Fort on October 25, 2010.
The arrest yielded substantial evidence, including a cash of Rs 1 lakh and incriminating materials associated with banned terror outfits LeT and HM.
The subsequent investigation led to the filing of a case (FIR number 255/2010) under relevant sections of the UA(P) Act and RPC at Police Station Bahu Fort.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to having undergone training in Pakistan to orchestrate terrorist activities in the region, following directives from their handlers.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the money recovered from the duo was meant to be distributed among the youth of Doda and Kishtwar to create militant activities in the region.
As the probe progressed, the accused were found to be in violation of multiple sections under the UA(P) Act and RPC.
Despite being presently out on bail, the culmination of the investigation led to the production of a charge-sheet in court today, underscoring the commitment to pursue justice and uphold the rule of law.
