JAMMU, Jan 7: Police in Jammu District raided 20 spa centres today.
The raids were conducted after a victim from Bihar levelled serious allegations of rape and illegal confinement against the owner of one of the centres.

“On the directions of the DM Jammu and SSP Jammu, we raided 20 spa centres operational in the Jammu South areas,” SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma told the media persons.
“These raids were carried out after both police and civil administration received separate complaints regarding running of some illegal and immoral activities within the spa centres,” he said.
The SP Jammu South said that a woman from Bihar had also levelled allegations of illegal confinement and rape against the owner of a spa centre through certain media platforms.
“Taking into consideration all these factors, we raided 20 spa centres operational in Jammu South,” he said.
According to the police officer, as of now, no spa centre has been sealed but the police are verifying the nature of the complaint received.
Meanwhile, the SP Jammu South requested all the property owners and spa centre owners to conduct police verification of their tenants and employees as mandated by the District Magistrate Jammu.
