Police recover stolen mobile phones worth lakhs

Srinagar, Aug 10: Police in Baramulla today solved a burglary case by arresting an accused involved in the commission of the crime and recovered stolen mobile phones worth lakhs from his possession.
As per police, on July 2, 2023, Police Station Baramulla received a written complaint from Zahoor Ahmad Bazi of Mohalla Syed Kareem Baramulla stating therein that during the intervening night of 1st-2nd July 2023, some unknown burglars barged into his mobile shop and stole mobile phones.
Accordingly, police said, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Baramulla and the investigation was initiated.
“During the course of the investigation, with the help of technical and human resources, the investigating team zeroed in on one suspect identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Hassan Bhat resident of Mir Sahib Old Town Baramulla,” police said.
During questioning, the police learnt about his involvement in the commission of the crime. “On his disclosure, stolen mobile phones worth 1.5 lakh were recovered from his possession.”
