JAMMU, Oct 18: Police have refuted reports circulating in the media about an explosion in the Marble Market area under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat Police Station.
A police official clarified that the incident, which occurred on October 16, 2024 around 11 pm, was a fire that broke out at Anish Aluminium Shop due to unknown causes, not an explosion.
“The fire was swiftly brought under control with police assistance, preventing any major damage,” said the police official.
According to her, a formal report has been lodged, and the investigation is being led by ASI Gulam Hussain of Channi Himmat Police Station.
Meanwhile, the police have urged media outlets to confirm details with responsible authorities before publishing such news to avoid misinformation.
