Police rescue 20 bovine animals, smugglers flee

JAMMU, Oct 21: Police today rescued 20 milch animals, while, the bovine smugglers managed to fled, leaving behind the vehicle, used for smuggling of bovine animals to valley.
Police spokesman said that, police party from Kud Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a truck.
The driver sped up the vehicle, abandoned it and fled along with his two associated identified as Munna of Udhampur and Zakir of Battal Ballian, he added.
During checking, police recovered 20 bovine animals from the vehicle, which the bovine smugglers were illegally transporting to the valley, spokesman added.
A case under FIR number 110/ 12 was registered at Kud Police Station and manhunt was on to nab the bovine smugglers, who fled from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle.
