KATHUA, Mar 7: In continuation to drive launched by the District Police Kathua to nab the bovine smugglers, Kathua Police rescued 11 bovine animals during two nakas late last night.
According to a handout issued by Kathua Police a party of P/S Kathua headed by SHO, Sarabjeet Singh under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters Kathua, Shams her Singh Samba and overall supervision of Pawn Pariah, SSP Kathua, laid down a naked at Brian Patten and intercepted one truck and one Bolero bearing registration number JK21C-7214 and JK08B-8406 respectively. The two vehicles were loaded with 04 and 03 Oxen respectively.
They were on way from Punjab towards Jammu. On noticing the naked party, driver of the vehicles and his associate managed to escape under the cover of darkness leaving the vehicles behind. During the checking of the vehicles, Police rescued 07 bovine animals which were being transported said vehicles illegally. Police has launched a man hunt to nab the smugglers and in this regard a case FIR No. 67/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act stands registered at P/S Kathua against the accused persons.
Moreover on the same day, another naked was also laid down at Magyar Chad, Kathua by Police Party of Police Post Hotly headed by IC PP Hotly, SI Vainer Singh. It intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02T-7365 loaded with bovine animals. The truck was on its way from Punjab towards Jammu. During checking four oxen were rescued and driver of the vehicle namely Omar Singh S/o Kapok Singh R/o Chord Tensile R.S. Pura District Jammu was arrested and his associate managed to escape from the spot. In this regard, a case FIR No. 68/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act stands registered at P/S Kathua against the accused persons. Investigation of both the cases is set into motion to ascertain the persons involved in bovine smuggling.
