KATHUA, May 17: Kathua Police today rescued 13 bovine animals and seized a tralla bearing registration number JK02AR-5695 in which they were being smuggled from Punjab to J&K State.
According to SSP Kathua Mohan Lal the tralla driver was asked to stop by the police near Lakhanpur but he ignored single and fled away.
He said the Kathua Police alerted all the nakas and also established new nakas to seize the tralla. But seeing police was on high alert, the driver stopped the tralla near Maggar Khad at an isolated place and fled away leaving the vehicle behind.
The police traced the tralla and during the search 13 bovine animals were recovered which were being transported into the State from Punjab. The police rescued all the bovine animals and a case FIR No 43/2014 us 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at P/S Lakhanpur. A man hunt was also launched to apprehend the driver of the tralla, he added.
