Police rescues 21 bovines, one arrested

JAMMU, May 28: Police today rescued 21 bovine animals and arrested one smuggler from Phalian Mandial area, falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station.
Police spokesman said that, some people reported theft cases of their bovines with police station Satwari and police started investigating the matter.
“On specific information, police party from Satwari police station conducted raid at Phalian Mandial area and rescued 21 bovine animals”, he added.
“Bovine smuggler identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Shah Mohd of RS Pura was arrested from the spot, while a Tata 307 vehicle bearing registration number JK02AH-1497, in which he use to smuggle bovines to Valley was also seized”, he said.
He added that the smuggler steals the bovines from different parts of the Satwari and nearby areas, collect them at one place and later smuggle them to Valley.
A case under FIR number 81/13 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Satwari police station and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police party led by Probationer DySP Shabir Khan and incharge Phalian Mandial Police Post Divinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Udhay Bhaskar Billa and officiating SSP Rajeshwar Singh.
