UDHAMPUR, Feb 14: The police seized two vehicles loaded with 25 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers during last night in Chenani area of Udhampur district.
Official sources said that a naka party of Police Station Chenani led by Insp. Pushpinder Singh, SHO under the supervision of Ahmed Shafi SDPO Chenani during checking at Motorshed (NHW), intercepted two vehicles/ trucks bearing registration number JK19 7806 and JK19 8188 for checking.
During search of the said vehicles, 25 bovine animals were found illegally loaded, without any valid permission.
All the bovine animals were rescued and two accused persons namely Nazran Bhat, son of Gul Mohd Bhat from Nowgam and Mushtaq- ul- Islam, son of Mohd Afzal from Doligam, Ramban were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, two cases under relevant Sections of Law stands registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is underway.
