Police rescues 4 bovine animals

KATHUA, Sept 4: In continuation to drive launched by the District Police Kathua to nab the bovine smugglers a police party of P/S Billawar acting on specific information, laid down a naka at Pinther, Dhar Road today and intercepted one truck bearing registration No. PB 10E/8327 driven by Mohd Farooq S/o Ab. Hamid R/o Mandli and his associate namely Ab. Hamid S/o Ad. Ahad R/o Mandli.
On seeing the naka party driver of the vehicle and its associate managed to escape leaving behind the vehicle. During checking of the vehicle Police rescued 4 bovine animals which were being transported from J&K to Punjab illegally.
Police has launched a manhunt to nab the accused. A case FIR No. 116/2014 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PC Act  stand registered at P/S Billawar against the arrested accused. Investigation of the case is in progress.
