Police rescues 9 bovines

SAMBA, June 3: Samba and Kathua police has rescued nine bovine animals in their jurisdiction during two naka checking today.
Samba police has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing four bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal today.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal signaled a Mahindra Pickup having Registration Number JK08F-7141 coming from Kathua side and moving towards Srinagar to stop.
Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle but the alert cops successfully chased the vehicle and intercepted it a few meters away from the naka point. However driver managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness.
During checking of the vehicle, four cattle were found laden inside it without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer places. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 120/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
Meanwhile district police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today foiled bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh and rescued five bovines and seized the vehicle involved.
Police said a team of Police Station (PS) , Rajbagh led by Inspector, Bhopinder Singh SHO under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan – during routine naka checking duty at Chainpura noticed one suspicious Mahindra vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02CM-2362.When the driver was signaled to stop for checking by police, he parked the vehicle far behind the naka point and managed to fled away. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found loaded in it illegally.
Meanwhile, vehicle was seized and all bovines were rescued on spot. By taking this cognizance case FIR No. 87/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Rajbagh and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly
