SAMBA, Mar 9: A joint team of Samba Police and SDRF rescued two persons from drowning who were trapped in Basantar river which was in spate due to heavy rains today.
They included Rashpal Singh S/o Amir Singh, 16 R/o Shah Balode and Suram S/o Satal Viraj R/o Bengal A/P SIDCO, Samba. The duo was loading sand in a tractor trolley in Basanter river. In the meantime, due to bad weather the level of water increased all of a sudden and both the persons were trapped in the river.
On receiving the information at Police Station Samba from reliable sources, Samba Police acted swiftly mobilized the SDRF team and rescued both the trapped persons from drowning after reaching the spot in time.
