Police seizes 12 bottles of liquor, challans 32 violators of SOPs

KATHUA, July 1: In continuation to its preventive measures within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today seized 12 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Kathua and challaned 32 more people who violated the Government order in different forms.
In order to prevent the trade, consumption and production of illicit liquor in the district a police team led by Inspector, Rajesh Kumar incharge Police Post (PP) Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Kathua, Shammi Kumar during patrolling and naka checking duty near Nagri apprehended one person namely Daleep Singh, son of Charan Singh of Ward No 12 tehsil and district Kathua.
During checking, 12 bottles of JK Special Whisky were recovered from his possession. All the bottles of illicit liquor were seized and person was arrested. In this regard, a case FIR No 314/2021 U/S 48(a) Excise Act stands registered at PS Kathua and investigation taken up.
Meanwhile, continuing its drive against the violators throughout the Kathua district police today challaned 32 violators with a fine of Rs.13900-00 for violating the COVID-19 SOPs in the area who were actually violated the Government order in different forms.
