Police seizes 5 trucks loaded with wooden logs

SAMBA, Apr 9: Samba police has seized five trucks loaded with wooden logs in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal today which were being transported in violation to J&K Forest Produce Transit Rule 2020.
A police party headed by SHO Police Station, Ghagwal while performing patrolling duty near Jatwal, intercepted five trucks coming from Jammu side having Registration Numbers JK02CL-8157, JK02CB-6348, JK02DC-4883, JK19A-3620 and PB65BD- 9647 for its checking. These vehicles were driven by drivers namely Gulzar Ahmed, son of Nazam Din of Raajan Jandial district Jammu, Mohd Ahafif son of Mohd Yaqoob of Gandarwan tehsil Akhnoor district Jammu, Imran Choudhury son of Rafiq Ahmed of Jandial district Jammu, Mubarik son of Zakir Hussan of Chadal Chamba (HP) and Abdul Rashid, son of Ghulam Asan of Laharog tehsil Solani district Chamba (HP) respectively.
During checking, wooden logs were found laden inside the trucks which were being transported in violation to J&K Forest Produce Transit Rule 2020.
The trucks have been seized and handed over to Forest Department, Samba for further legal proceedings.
