REASI, Nov 17: Going tough against the traffic violators, Reasi Police under the supervision of SSP Amit Gupta has launched special drive, intensifying checking against traffic violators on all vulnerable routes throughout the district.
Taking note of the tragic Doda road accident, Reasi police during the special drive seized 72 vehicles and challaned 272 on all routes throughout the sistrict involved in traffic violations especially overloading, without helmet, triple- riding, without wearing seat belt, rash driving and other offences.
Medical checkup of 55 drivers also got conducted in which various health parameters got checked under the supervision of DySP Hqrs, Reasi Neeraj Padyar alongwith SHO Reasi Insp Vijay Sharma. All the pillion riders were briefed and made them aware about the benefits of wearing of head gears while driving.
They were also advised to follow the traffic rules, avoid rash driving and not to drive after consuming liquor. Passengers and general public appreciated the special drive initiative of the police.
District Police Reasi has warned the traffic violators to shun the practice of overloading and other traffic violations which is not only risky for them but it also endangers the life of other people.
The Police also appealed the general public to co-operate with police and provide information/inputs, if any driver, especially of a passenger vehicle is noticed carrying overload or driving rashly and negligently. A stringent action will be taken by Police against him.
