KATHUA, Nov 16: Continuing its war on drugs to contain the spread of narcotics and psychotropic substances within the district, Kathua Police under the guidance of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today seized 5.60 grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at Banyari bridge and arrested the drug peddler.
Police said a team led by Sub Inspector (SI), Arjun Singh in charge Police Post (PP) Marheen under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan during patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at Banyari bridge area apprehended one person namely Parveen Kumar alias Babbi, son of Jia Lal of Jugial tehsil, Marheen district Kathua.
During checking 5.60 grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics was recovered from his possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics was seized and one person was arrested. In this connection a case vide FIR No. 226/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Rajbagh and further investigation is underway.
