Police seizes heroin, arrests 2 drug peddlers

KATHUA, July 7: In continuation to its drive against the drug dealings in the area, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today recovered five grams of heroin like contraband in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Kathua and arrested two drug peddlers.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Vijay Kumar under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Shammi Kumar while on naka checking duty at Kathua apprehended two suspicious persons. On thorough checking approximately five grams of heroin like contraband was recovered from the possession of two accused namely Vikas Potra, son of Bishamber Lal of Ward No. 17 Kathua and other namely Sukhmeet Kumar, son of Kewal Krishan of Chack Desa Singh Ward No. 02 Kathua.
Thereafter all the recovered material was seized and arrested both the persons involved. A case vide FIR No. 326/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kathua and further investigation was started into the case.
