Police seizes Rs 5.14 lakh cash from two vehicles

RAJOURI, Mar 31: As a part of Model Code of Conduct rules, the police seized Rs 5.14 lakhs from two vehicles during routine naka in district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that during routine vehicles checking, a team of Dharamsal Police led by SHO, Inspector Vishal Kumar  recovered the cash from two vehicles during checking on the highway.
The Model Code of Conduct came into effect when the Election Commission announced the Lok Sabha polls’ dates.

During the checking of a vehicle Rs 3,81,000 cash has been seized at Siot Naka in Dharamsal area by SST No.6/83 Kalakote from one namely Mohd Azad Ahmed, son of Mohd Aslam, resident of Khari tehsil & district Poonch and similarly a cash amount of Rs 1,33,000 was seized during search at Siot Naka l from Palak Mengi, wife of Bhanu Sharma, resident of village Dori, Akhnoor , at present Sainik Colony Jammu while she was travelling in vehicle No. JK12- 9300. The police was verifying.
