SAMBA, Oct 7: As a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers/smugglers, Samba police has executed another attachment operation under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur resulting in the freezing/seizure of Swift car bearing Registration Number. JK08P-1912 worth Rs 8.0 lakh approximately owned by drug kingpin namely Mohammed Aslam, son of Teg Ali of Mathar Chak tehsil Hirangar, Kathua.
Police said the action was taken under sections 68 A.2 (c),& E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, dealing with provisions for attachment of properties of drug peddlers/ smugglers.
The drug peddler Mohammed Aslam is presently in judicial custody in case FIR No. 99/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/60 NDPS Act of Police Station, Vijaypur and is also involved in multiple cases registered under NDPS Act at PS Vijaypur, district Reasi, NCB Jammu and Punjab which included FIR No. 99/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/60 NDPS Act of Police Station Vijaypur, FIR No. 73/2023 0/58/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act of Police Station Pouni, Reasi, FIR No. 173/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of Police Station Vijaypur, FIR No. 165/2022 U/S 21 (6)/25 NDPS Act of Police Station STF wing Punjab, FIR No. 170/2021 U/S 21/29 NDPS Act of Police Station, Shahpur Kandi Punjab, FIR No. 04/2023 U/S 8/21/25/29/60 NDPS Act of NCB Jammu.
Police said the movable property (car) was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/inquiry conducted by the police with the help of Transport Department. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.
The property was seized by police team headed by SHO Police Station(PS) Vijaypur.
