RAMBAN, June 12: The Cyber Cell of DPO Ramban here today solved an online financial fraud.
A complaint was received from Shaziya Allahi, daughter of Mohd Ashraf, resident of Dalwah Gool, District Ramban wherein she stated that she received a link in Telegram App from an unknown person stating that they would double her money within two hours. The applicant fell into the trap of the fraudster and transferred Rs. 26,000 into the account of the fraudster but later on learnt that it was a fraud.
During the investigation, Cyber Cell DPO Ramban acted swiftly and exhibited hectic efforts which ultimately led to the recovery of the defrauded amount of Rs. 26,000.
SSP Ramban reiterated his appeal to the general public to remain extra vigilant and promptly report any suspicious online activities to the National Cyber Crime Helpline No. 1930 or lodge Cyber Complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in.
